One useful way to think of the effect of Pluto is through the myth of Shiva the destroyer - and creator. In order to create, we have to destroy. |
Pluto, the planet of power and transformation, is traveling through Capricorn, the sign of government, transnational institutions (banks, the UN), and in general the Establishment. This transit has been heightened by the Cardinal Climax, but Pluto will not leave Capricorn until 2020.
Pluto = "Whatever does not kill you, makes you stronger."
Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008 – and the banks collapsed right on schedule (although they've risen again like those zombies in Night of the Living Dead).
The bankers are back and they want to eat us up |
Pluto also opposed the US Venus (money) several times over the last few years. US Venus is in Cancer (real estate), Pluto can act like a sucking drain: suddenly, no money.
Why am I telling you stuff that's already happened? To give you some context for the following Pluto transits.
- Pluto is going to conjunct the UK Sun and the Euro (currency) Sun in February 2013,
- and oppose the US Sun the following year (2014).
- Before it does either of those things it's going to square the French Sun, the Chinese Sun and the German Sun, starting this November and carrying on through 2012.
Now it's hard to say exactly what's going to happen over the next few years, except that transformation is under way already. (No kidding.) Either we at least attempt to go with the flow of change or we will be dragged kicking and screaming into the future.
What makes things tricky to predict is that none of these countries existed in their current forms last time Pluto was in Capricorn, which was 1762-1778. And so to this month.
September opens with a rather beautiful Grand Trine which allows energy to flow smoothly from the planet of luck, Jupiter, to Pluto to the Sun and Venus herself. Try to hook into that energy to get some of the positive benefits of Pluto. It may give you a bit of a steer on how to ride the next few years.
Remember, Pluto brings enormous, focused power as well as destruction.
The Sun, Venus, Mars and Mercury manage to avoid anything to confrontational with the outer planets until mid-month. Poor old Venus is the first in line on the 16th, but at least she has some protection from being in her own sign, Libra. Then it's right back into the fray for that brave Sun who gets a nasty jab from Pluto on the 26th. At the very end of the month, Venus conjoins Saturn - actually rather a good thing for both of them. If you're planning on getting hitched, you could try then. Mercury also squares Pluto on that day, so prepare for some home truths to be told.
